Short version: we collect what we need to run the app, we never sell it, and it's yours to export or delete whenever you want.
Too Hard Pile collects your email address (so you can log in), the practice progress you generate by rating drills (which questions you've seen, how well you did, when they're next due), and anything you choose to write in your decision journal or your saved "digs." That's it — we don't track you across other sites, and we don't run ad trackers.
Your email identifies your account and lets us send account-related messages (like password resets). Your progress and journal data exist so the app can schedule reviews and show you your own history. We use a session cookie purely to keep you logged in — it carries no tracking payload and isn't shared with anyone.
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, de-identified usage — how many people visit, which pages they land on, roughly what region and device they're on — so we can make the app better. This sets analytics cookies in your browser. It's measurement, not advertising: we don't build ad profiles and we don't sell this data. If you'd prefer not to be measured, most browsers let you block cookies, or you can use an analytics blocker.
We never sell your data. We don't share your journal entries or progress with third parties, and we don't use your data to train anything outside of running Too Hard Pile for you.
From Settings you can export a full copy of your data (journal, digs, and progress) as a JSON file at any time, or permanently delete your account and everything in it — no waiting period, no support ticket required.
