What it is
Too Hard Pile exists because reading about a thinking tool is not the same as being able to use one. Most of us know we should weigh the downside, question our assumptions, or think a step further ahead — and still don't, in the moment that counts. So instead of long articles, this is built around practice: short, repeated reps on real decisions, so the right model comes to mind when you need it.
How it works
There are three ways in, all free to try:
- Decision Stories — short interactive episodes. You make the call, see the consequences, and get a debrief that names the mental model behind it.
- Mental models — brief drills on individual frameworks such as inversion, second-order thinking, and root-cause analysis. You commit to an answer before anything is revealed, and spaced repetition brings each one back just before you'd forget it.
- Decision Toolbox — structured tools you can point at a real decision in your life, work, or business, and leave with a clearer next step.
Alongside them sits the decision journal, where you keep a record of real choices and what you learned from them. Your progress and journal are yours: you can export a full copy or delete your account at any time from Settings.
