Interactive Decision Stories is drawn from royalty-free sprite and background packs by three independent itch.io creators. None of them require credit — we credit them anyway, because it's the right thing to do.
sutemo.itch.io — the male character sprites (Marcus and Dan) come from Sutemo's "Male Character Sprite for Visual Novel" pack.
License as stated by the creator: free to use in personal or commercial projects; the sprite itself may not be resold on its own. Credit is not required — it's given here regardless. The pack page states no generative AI was used.
bhanitaart.itch.io — the Emma sprite is "Nazumi", a full-body visual-novel sprite with a large set of expressions, by bhanitaart.
License as stated on the page: free to download, commercial use OK, and the page states no generative AI was used. Credit is not required — it's given here regardless.
potat0master.itch.io — three packs: the "Free Character Sprites for Visual Novels Starter Bundle" (Shion and Daiki, used for Emma and Marcus), the "Free Character Sprite for Visual Novels — Hiyori" pack (Zoe), and the "Free Visual Novel Backgrounds (Mini Pack 2)" set of 19 backgrounds.
License as stated by the creator: royalty-free — use in personal and commercial projects, modify freely, monetize freely; credit not required (given here anyway); the packs may not be resold or redistributed as standalone files or inside another asset pack. The sprite packs state the final art was fully hand-drawn (AI used for reference only, no AI pixels in the output); the backgrounds were made entirely in Blender with no AI involvement.
The sprites and backgrounds are composited into the episode panels of Interactive Decision Stories. The source packs themselves are never resold or redistributed — only the composited episode art ships with the site.
